This is the responsorial psalm for the 2nd Sunday in Ordinary Time, Cycle A.
The song is an offering of self to the Lord’s will after God has heard the psalmist’s cry.

Usage Notes:
Sing response twice at the start and twice at the end. All other times sing only once.
The verses are supposed to be flowing. Accompanists should play lightly and let the cantor’s melody be dominant.

Story Behind the Song:
As homage to the quintessential Catholic song of self offering — Dan Schutte’s “Here I Am Lord” — I composed the response in the key of G major. That’s where all similarities end. 😀

Final Word:
Happy new year to all! It’s 2011 finally. And I’m back to digital music pieces for this first set of psalms. Hopefully I can keep up with the pace.
