This is the Responsorial Psalm for the 3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time, Cycle A.
“The Lord is My Light” is a song of hope in the Lord, knowing He is our salvation, and our final reward in the land of the living.

Usage Notes:
Repeat the response twice at the start and twice at the end.
If using guitar, strum during the responses, pluck during the verses.
Story Behind the Song:
The inspiration behind the first melodic phrase in the verses was a gregorian chant written by St. Hildegarde von Bingen, an abbess and visionary from the 14th century. Her music was characterized by large intervals between melodic notes.
Final Word:
If you use these responsorial psalms, please remember to include my family in your prayers. My 1.5-year-old son Zion is recovering from pneumonia and the rest of us at home have some sort of cold virus. God bless your music ministry!

Thanks Lionel. We'll use your music, this is a lot of help. I would probably skip the repeat of the response kasi masyado mahaba. We'll just do the repeat in the 1st and last time. Thanks again.

HI Alex,
If you're going to do the refrain only once, then I suggest using measures 1,2 and 5 so that your chords are: |Em Bm| D E | <–this way it resolves to a major right away.
God bless!

Hi Lionel what a talent you have been blessed with! Thank you for your generosity in sharing this with everyone as well! I am planning for a Mass on 6 Dec 2019 which features Psalm 27 and I’m wondering if it’s ok to use the tune which you have composed (which is for Ordinary Time Cycle A). Any advice you can share would be appreciated. God bless you and your family!
