Responsorial psalm for the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Cycle A. Based on Psalm 25, this is a song recalling the mercy and compassion of God, and longing for the Lord to teach the faithful his ways.

(This was composed for the Sunday of 9/28/2014).

Usage Notes:
Sing response twice at start and twice at the end. Do not go too fast.
The response is in the key of F-major and sounds hopeful and optimistic, while the verses are in D-minor making it more melancholic. One way to demonstrate this is to play the verses at a slightly slower tempo than the response.

Story Behind the Song:
The verses for this song were actually written for an earlier version of Psalm 25 that I composed entitled: “Teach My Your Ways O God (Psalm 25).” Since the words are exactly the same, I re-used the melody for this composition, pairing it with a joyful antiphon.

Prayer Intention:
If you use this psalm for the mass, please pray for one of Pope Benedict XVI’s prayer intentions for September 2014: Service to the poor. That Christians, inspired by the Word of God, may serve the poor and suffering.
